Overview
Compartmentation divides a building into fire-resisting cells so a fire cannot spread. Decades of M&E penetrations, refurbishments and lazy reinstatements compromise it. We survey, document and remediate to give you a defensible record.

- Type 1–4 compartmentation surveys (visual through to intrusive).
- Penetration sealing with Nullifire, Hilti and Promat systems — third-party certified.
- Cavity barrier installation and dampers to BS 9999.
- AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) installation, servicing and smoke control compliance.
- Digital "golden thread" record — drawings, products, photos, certificates.
Why this matters
The Building Safety Act 2022 requires a digital golden thread of information for higher-risk buildings. Compartmentation evidence is a core part of that — and a critical defence in any enforcement action.
Frequently asked questions
Type 4 is fully intrusive — opening up service voids, risers and ceilings — to verify concealed fire-stopping. Required when there is reason to suspect significant non-compliance.
